Actor, James Franco can now add published author to his title. Franco, who is currently pursuing a master's degree in creative writing from Colombia University, has recently had his first short story published in Esquire magazine. The story, "Just Before the Black," is about a young man that has suicidal thoughts.

e that Franco's story has been published in a magazine that features his co-star on the cover and during a time that "Date Night" is being promoted. Franco is using his acting career as a vehicle to launch his writing career.
It is yet to be seen if Franco will concentrate his talents on acting or writing. Franco's writing will promote his literary skill and if his writing receives critical acclaim he may land more serious acting roles, or be offered the chance of write scripts for movies.

Although I'm sure his written work is going to be great, much of the popularity of it will probably come from his already formed celebrity status. He sure is taking advantage of his movie promotion to promote his short stories! Good PR on his part =P
First of all, he is so hot! Okay, I had to get that out...yeah, he is definitely a renaissance man. I admire how he is pursuing his master's degree and still working on his acting career. I can barely handle a part time job and being a full time student!
I had no idea he was in Date Night with Tina Fey and Steve Carell and this is more of a reason I have to go out and see this movie!
Petra, you're definitely right about how "coincidently" he's story is published with the issue of Tina Fey promoting the movie. I'm noticing a lot of the times now, they also feature other actors apart of the movie in the magazine in either the fashion section to just keep pushing at promoting the movie. Also, sometimes they feature bands whose music is in the film inside the magazine as well.
